Inspired by the works of acclaimed interior designers such as Pierre Chareau, Gio Ponti and Carlo Scarpa, Carl Motiwalla decided to study interior design at the Florence Institute of Design and will graduate in May 2023. Based between Florence and Dubai, he has lived entirely surrounded by iconic examples of design, classically and the ultra- modern.

With an interest in fine details of international design styles, Carl has defined his own aesthetic style which is recognisable yet evolving with his studies. Carl places the user at the centre of his artistic process, expressing emotions through the quality of drawing. He has been inspired by the everyday and intimacy of materials, forms and texture found in nature as well as the advances in sustainable design technology.
